All workshops begin with a short, yet special Ceremony of song, invocation, and smoke blessing. Ana and Medicine Man, Jose Calarco, set the intent for the practice and honor the ancestors and custodians of our sacred land.

Friday, May 8 at 6:00pm:    Luminous Core

Forrest Yoga takes you on a physical and mental journey deep into the core of your own being. You will create a heightened sense of awareness through breath and asanas, and open to the amazing quality of feeling that lives inside of you. Use Forrest Yoga to connect to your core, shed what is no longer useful, keep what is of value and ‘with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.” Challenge and move your core energy into those areas where it has yet to be. Come sweat, breathe deeply and enter the incredible mystery of your core. You will feel cleansed, refreshed and alive.

 

Saturday, May 9 at 9:30 am:    Free Your Spine

In this practice, you will strengthen your back by creating space and length in the spine and surrounding muscles. The correct use of breath moves out the stiffness and stagnation in this area. The practice will not only serve to ease tight back muscles and strengthen weak ones, but they also improve circulation and stimulate the release of exhilarating endorphins. With Forrest Yoga, learn to do your poses with a quality of attention that frees energy and strengthens your mindfulness. Learn how to warm up and warm down properly for apex poses to stay injury free and create a whole new dimension of delicious depths to explore in your yoga practice. Exciting and profound.

 

Saturday, May 9 at 3:00 pm:    Romance Your Spirit with Ceremony & Music Healing

We often live in a way that entraps our Spirit and confines it to a small space within our body. Experience Forrest Yoga meditation exercises, chants, music healing, and a dharma talk to create a safe space for your Spirit to live more freely and fully in your body. You will strengthen your relationship with your Spirit and walk through life as your Spirit dictates. Does your practice brighten or dim your Spirit? Make the choice to brighten up and fascinate in process! Forrest Yoga teaches you to focus your intent on connecting to and Romancing your Spirit. How? By choosing, in the moment, to breathe in a way that brightens you; to do your poses in a way that invites your Spirit to permeate into all of your body. This welcomes your Spirit home. This is a 2.5-hour workshop that includes about 30 minutes of asana.

 

Sunday, May 10 at 9:30 am:    Inversions & Arm Balances

Inversions and arm balancing poses are challenging and exciting. They rejuvenate the mind and body. They increase circulation of blood, oxygen, and energy, stimulating the endocrine and immune systems. Both arm balancing poses and inversions develop mental and physical strength, balance and flexibility. In this session, learn the essential elements of these powerful poses. Learn the skills of balance and then have fun applying them to your life.
